Ranking well on Google and being recommended by AI are two different races. A business can own the map pack in Dallas, TX and still be invisible when a customer asks an assistant the same question — and the reverse happens just as often.
The two systems read different things. Google’s local pack leans on proximity, Google Business Profile completeness and review volume. An assistant is summarising what the web says about a business — directory profiles, roundups, forum threads and the business’s own pages — and names whoever its trusted sources describe most clearly.
